What does 'unlimited' really mean?

A:  If you have an 'unlimited' plan this means that all calls you make to that country or countries in that plan will be included in your monthly plan fee, and you will not be charged a separate per-minute fee, except for calls made to mobile phones which are not included in some 'unlimited' plans.

Can I use it if I'm travelling?

A:  Yes you can take your iTalk device anywhere in the world and use it. All you need is a broadband or high-speed Internet connection, an Ethernet modem that supports Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and a telephone. However, we recommend you do not use your iTalk device to make "999" calls while you are travelling, as the service will not work as expected. All "999" calls made on the iTalk device are routed to the Emergency Communications Centre within the UK, even when you are traveling, and not to an emergency call centre where you are. We recommend you find another phone alternative for your 999 emergency service calls when you are outside of the UK.

What is "broadband"?

A:  A broadband Internet connection is an ADSL, DSL, LAN, T1, T3, LAN, WAN, cable modem or any other high-speed 'always on' connection. If you have to dial up to an access number to reach the Internet then you do not have broadband.

What happens if there is a problem with my high-speed Internet service provider?

A:  The iTalk service is dependent on your high-speed Internet connection, so if your connection is not working, the iTalk service will not work. We suggest that contact is made with your network provider to resolve the connection problem.

Will iTalk work without a power supply?

A:  Just like a regular phone line, it's very rare that your Broadband line will not work. For iTalk to work you'll need power to make both the iTalk device and your Ethernet modem to work. Lack of power may affect your access to 999 or emergency services.
